Although Rick Owens has been married to a woman for 16 years, he is openly bisexual. He used to date one of Michèle Lamy’s best friends, Rick Castro, who is now a famous S&M photographer. The pair was reported to have dated for about a year before Castro introduced Owens to Lamy as his pattern maker.
Castro, who had known Lamy since 1978, designed her first menswear collection, Lamy Men (1986 – 1988). Although Castro and Owens were no longer an item when he brought the latter to the company, they rekindled their romance for a brief time.
