Noel Fielding is an English actor and comedian who shot to fame with his stints on “Mighty Boosh”, a BBC Three comedy series that ran from 1998 to 2009. The show had gained a cult following and Noel became a household name with his “emo heartthrob” image, all complete with long hair and super skinny jeans.

Born on May 21, 1973, this 49-year-old entertainer started by doing stand-up comedy shows. He met Julian Barratt on the comedy circuit and together they produced a 2001 radio series called “The Boosh” for BBC Radio London. This was followed by the TV show, “The Mighty Boosh,” which cemented the comedian’s spot in the industry.
Fielding is still very relevant today, with him being a co-presenter of the British TV baking competition show, “The Great British Bake Off,” since 2017. The comedian, even with his dark and surreal comedic style, was believed to be gay. What started all these gay rumors and is there any truth to them? Is Noel Fielding gay?
VOTE: What is Noel Fielding’s Sexuality?
On Exploring His Sexuality
Noel Fielding is known for his quirky hairstyle and unique fashion sense. This may be a factor in why people assume that he’s gay.
But no, the comedian said he doesn’t identify himself as gay. In fact, he had been in a long-term relationship with his girlfriend. They’ve been together since 2010.
However, Fielding admitted to going through a stage where he explored his sexuality. He said he “romped” with men before he had decided that he didn’t really swing that way. His little exploration made him realize his true sexuality.
Yes, he may be straight but that doesn’t take away his huge respect from the members of the queer community. Gay people, for him, are like “Superman.”
Also, he hasn’t dismissed the possibility of having a bromance with his Great British Bake Off co-star Paul Hollywood.
Who is Noel Fielding’s Girlfriend?
The comedian is in a long-term relationship with his girlfriend, Lliana Bird, a former radio DJ who is known for being an activist. She used to present the Sunday evening show on Radio X. She writes for the Huffington Post, as well.
The couple had been together since 2010. The DJ gave birth to their first child, a daughter, in April 2018. They named their child Dali Fielding-Bird, after Fielding’s favorite artist, Salvador Dali.
Two years later, the couple had their second daughter, Iggy Fielding-Bird, who was born in August 2020. Lliana revealed the baby’s name in an Instagram post that shows the family’s homemade Halloween decorations with the caption:
The couple tends to keep their personal lives private. They mostly post work-related stuff on their social media accounts.

Noel Fielding’s Dating History
Prior to meeting his current girlfriend and the mother of his kids, the comedian used to date Delia Gaitskell, also known as Dee Plume, of the band Robots in Disguise. After they broke up, Fielding was romantically linked to various celebrities.
But the most remarkable fling he had was when he was involved with Pixie Geldof — the daughter of musician Bob Geldof. What makes the romance the subject of criticism is the fact that they not only have a ridiculous age gap, Pixie is a minor, too, when they date.
Pixie Geldof was only 16 years old while Fielding was 33 when the pair was rumored to have dated. The comedian, however, denied that they were romantically involved. They were just friends, he said. This, however, contradicts the time when Pixie was spotted canoodling with him.
Amidst all the denials from the comedian, the dating rumor had not died down for a while. Especially not after the two were seen making out in a club some years later.
On Getting Slammed Because of a Gay Joke
The comedian received backlash because of a gay joke he made. This was after he posted a picture of him and Paul Hollywood in a compromising pose with the caption:
People didn’t find the joke funny. As a matter of fact, they see it as demeaning to gay sex. Some found it homophobic, too.

One social media user replied to the tweet with, “I like you @noelfielding11, but you’ve got some growing up to do. I’d expect this of Paul (not that that’s ok) but not of you.”
“Gay sex isn’t there for your cheap and nasty humour. Rethink your attitude, please,” said another
Fielding later tweeted a photo of a sign that read, “Come out for LGBT.”
Is Noel Fielding Gay?
No, Noel Fielding is probably not gay. Even though he carries and dresses himself up in an eccentric way, which is a huge factor in why people think he swings that way, the comedian has never been in same-sex relationships. He only dated women. Thus, it’s only safe to assume that Noel Fielding is a straight man.
