Niall Horan is an Irish singer-songwriter who’s best known for being a member of the boy band, One Direction. He was born on September 13, 1993, in Mullingar, Ireland, to Bobby Horan and Maura Gallagher. At the age of eleven, Horan taught himself how to play the guitar and started singing and writing songs. He also performed for local events and participated in fundraisers for the Mullingar Arts Centre.
In 2010, Horan auditioned for “The X Factor” in Dublin by singing “So Sick” by Ne-Yo. Although he initially failed to qualify for the next round, the judges agreed he was too good to let go. Horan was eventually placed in a group with four other boys, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik, and together they formed their boy band, One Direction. Unfortunately, the band went on a hiatus in 2016 after the departure of Malik. During this time, Horan signed up with Capitol Records as a solo artist.
