Sir Michael Philip Jagger, known to many as Mick Jagger, is an English singer, actor, dancer, filmmaker, and songwriter. He was one of the founding members and lead vocalist of the rock band Rolling Stones. Jagger was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989 and the UK Music Hall of Fame in 2004. He was knighted in 2003 by Queen Elizabeth II for the service and honor he had gained for the country.
Jagger was born on July 26, 1943, in Kent, to gymnast and sportsman Basil Fanshawe “Joe” Jagger, and hairdresser Eva Ensley Mary Scutts. Jagger’s father helped popularize basketball in the UK, and his mother was also an active participant in the United Kingdom Conservative Party. He also has a brother, Chris, who also became a musician. Jagger soon abandoned his studies at the London School of Economics and formed a garage band with Keith Richards and Brian Jones. This would soon turn into what would become the Rolling Stones.
The Rolling Stones and Jagger’s career spanned over six decades, and Jagger was named one of the most influential and most popular front men in rock music history. Unfortunately, Jagger’s relationship with his band members deteriorated in the 80s, and he began working on solo and other side group projects. He continued with his music career and ended up being one of the most successful artists in music history.
Becoming one of the most famous rock icons in the world comes with a ton of perks, but it also comes with a lot of controversies. Jagger became notorious for his use of narcotics and illegal drugs, as well as his relationships. Being a rockstar and, at one point, a sex icon, many people began wondering and asked, “Is Mick Jagger gay?” Let’s take a look at some of the rock legend’s relationships and find out.
