There has been speculation that she was gay. In fact, there had been rumors that she “kinda came out” during one of her Instagram Lives.

Although none had actually recorded the whole thing, another Reddit user replied and decided to give a recap on what happened during the singer’s Live.
I don’t have a recording, but she only mentioned it for a minute. Basically, said she is attracted to girls, but she kinda goes with the flow and doesn’t completely rule out a guy relationship, but she hasn’t had an instance where it has happened.”
That interaction between her fans suggests that the singer is into both sexes.

If you have followed Leah’s journey on American Idol, you would have known that she and another contestant, Fritz Hager, were shipped by some fans together.
Leah and Fritz developed a close bond during the competition. Their on-stage chemistry is strong, as well, as they would often perform a duet on the show. Both were pretty good contenders. In fact, Fritz made it to the top 5 before he was eliminated. Their closeness, however, gave birth to dating rumors.
But, the supposedly budding romance between the two was debunked by Fritz Hager during an interview with HollywoodLife.
Honestly, for me and Leah, they’re (dating rumors) just so funny. It cracks us up because it’s just so not that. But she’s great. She’s like my best friend, but I think people want us to date.”

She reminds me of my sister. She’s fantastic. We’ve been in this race together, and getting this far with her is great.”
