Born on June 9, 2000, this 22-year-old American artistic gymnast captured everyone’s attention during the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, where she won silver in the individual balance beam competition and secured gold in the team event.
Aside from being an Olympic gold medalist, Hernandez also appeared in season 23 of the American dance competition TV series “Dancing with the Stars” with her partner Val Chmerkovskiy. She was the youngest-ever champion in the said competition.

All the rumors about the Olympic gold medalist’s sexuality were finally answered when Hernandez revealed two years ago, through an Instagram post, that she was dating fellow gymnast Charlotte Drury. On December 5, 2022, Hernandez posted a photo of them together, with Drury planting a big smooch on her cheek, with the caption:

The anniversary post confirmed that they had been in a relationship for two years already. They are indeed a winning pair! Aside from bagging several medals, they have definitely won each other’s hearts, as well.
Both members of the U.S. National Gymnastics team had been dropping hints about their romance. Although they have only confirmed their relationship in 2022, they would often appear on each other’s social media accounts. In fact, on December 6, 2021, to discreetly celebrate their first anniversary together, Hernandez shared a photo via Instagram of Drury kissing her on the cheek with the caption:

Prior to confirming their relationship to the public, they were already seen gushing and supporting each other on social media.
Hernandez once wrote in the comment section of a goofy TikTok video of them together, “Charlotte Drury is my favorite person.”
In another TikTok video of Drury reflecting on her journey to become an Olympian, Hernandez left a heartwarming message in the comment section that says:
You are so loved. I hope you feel the world hold your story with tender hands & know again, that you are so incredibly loved.”
In a previous interview with PEOPLE, prior to confirming their relationship, Hernandez said she was already “taken”. She said that she had been in a relationship with her “partner” for almost two years, and that “life is good”.
The couple, who had been together for almost 3 years now, was still going strong, judging by the sweet social media posts they have of each other.
