Born on November 22, 1988, Jamie Campbell Bower is a 34-year-old English actor and singer. He was widely known for playing Henry Creel/One/Vecna in the fourth series of the hit Netflix series “Stranger Things”.
The actor had his acting debut doing a supporting role in the 2007 film, “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.” He, however, started to catch the fans’ interest when he appeared in “The Twilight Saga” (2008-2012), “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones” (2013), “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1” (20120), and “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” (2018).
Bower is also into music. He was the frontman of the London-based punk rock band Counterfeit from 2015 to 2020. The band released its first album in March 2017 and went on a US tour later that year. They were disbanded in November 2020 and Bower released music as a solo artist after.
There had always been assumptions about Jamie Campbell’s sexuality among fans. One factor that sparked these gay rumors is some of the roles he plays that seem to resonate with the queer community. So, is Jamie Campbell gay? Let’s get to know him better.
VOTE: What is Jamie Campbell’s Sexuality?
Jamie Campbell’s Sexuality: The Queer Icon That He Is
Jamie Campbell Bower is part of the cast of the hit Netflix series “Stranger Things”. His character, Vecna, was thought of as gay by some viewers.
Although the character’s sexuality was not directly defined by the series, there were just some scenes that suggest that he might be queer.
The viewers think that it’s about time that “messy gays” such as themselves finally get to see a reflection of their own selves on screen in the shows they love.
Something about the antagonist resonated with the queer viewers enough to inspire a lot of memes. It’s funny how a seemingly straight horror villain has captured the imagination of queer fans from all over the world. But apparently, that’s what happened to Vecna’s character. Fans of the hit sci-fi series see him as a queer icon.
That is probably one of the reasons why some fans think that Jamie Campbell Bower is queer in real life.

Jamie Campbell’s Dating History
Before dating Jess Moloney, Bower has been in many high-profile relationships ever since he broke into the entertainment world in the early 2000s. Here are the women who had been romantically linked with the actor in the past.
Zoe Graham (2007-2009)
The actor was linked to fashion designer Zoe Graham in 2007. They were very open about their relationship, not shying away from showing some PDA on various occasions. They even went on a romantic getaway together to Rome in October 2009. They, however, broke up later that year.
Bonnie Wright (2010-2012)
Bower also dated his Harry Potter co-star Bonnie Wright in 2010. The two became close while filming “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1”, where Bower played the young Gellert Grindelwald and Wright played the role of Ginny Weasley.
It was a whirlwind romance for the couple. They have even admitted to being engaged at one point.
The romance was, however, short-lived. After getting engaged less than a year after they started dating, it has been reported shortly after that the engagement was off. The breakup was confirmed by US Weekly in July 2012. The outlet has reported that the couple called it quits early that year.
Lily Collins (2012-2018)
Bower then went out with actress Lily Collins. The two fell in love while filming “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones” (2013). The two were in an on-and-off relationship for five years. They broke up three times during the duration of their relationship. Bower had dated three other women during their breaks — Zina Charkoplia, Olivia Hann, and Matilda Lowther.
And whenever Bower and Collins got back together, they would always share a photo of them together on their social media accounts.

Three years later, the couple separated ways for good. Collins is now married to film director Charlie McDowell in 2021.
Zina Charkoplia (2013)
During one of the breaks with Lily Collins, Jamie Campbell Bower briefly dated Spanish model and blogger Zina Charkoplia. The two were seen all cozy at the Optimus Music Festival in Portugal. They were never spotted together after that so fans believed that the romance was short-lived.
Matilda Lowther (2014-2017)
Bower was also in an on-and-off romance with runway model Matilda Lowther. They were believed to have started hooking up after they had worked together on Burberry’s Brit-tastic campaign in March 2014. They dated for a while before they had a break in 2015 — wherein Bower and Collins got back for a short while — before they reunited in the spring of 2016, but eventually broke up for good in November 2017.
Olivia Hann (2014)
The actor had a brief romance with British events manager Olivia Hann in 2014. They got together during one of Bower’s breaks with Collins.
Ruby Quilter (2018-2020)
Bower was rumored to have dated professional tattoo artist Ruby Quilter in 2018. The couple had a very lowkey relationship. However, Bower brought Quilter as his date during the “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald” premiere in 2018, somehow confirming their relationship. They broke up in 2020 for unknown reasons.

Is Jamie Campbell Gay?
Let’s admit it, there’s nothing about Jamie Campbell Bower that suggests he was gay. Aside from playing a villainous character that seems to resonate with the queer community, nothing about the actor suggests that he was one of them. And if we have to consider all the high-profile relationships he had ever since he started making a name in the industry, he was, without a doubt, very straight.
