Dan Levy is a Canadian actor and filmmaker best known for his work in the CBC sitcom “Schitt’s Creek.” Levy was born on August 9, 1983, in Toronto, Ontario, to actor Eugene Levy and Deborah Divine. Levy’s parents are Jewish and Protestant, and the family celebrates Christmas and Hanukkah. He pursued film production at York University and Ryerson University.
Levy’s career began when he co-hosted “MTV Live” on the MTV Canada channel. Dan Levy On His Sexuality
Dan Levy has openly stated that he is a member of the LGBTQ+ community. In several interviews, he expressed the hardships he experienced in his adolescence. He experienced physical problems brought about by anxiety. He said social interactions and various situations were extremely difficult for him.
This followed him into adulthood. While working on “Schitt’s Creek,” Levy reportedly needed chiropractic treatment and a neck brace due to his neck “seizing up.” He also suffered an eye condition called iritis, another physical expression of his anxiety.
I think that came from a deep-rooted fear of knowing that I was gay and not being able to be free,” he explained. “By the time I got to high school, when your brain is starting to catch up to your physical impulses, it led to a very confusing time… Fear of being ridiculed.
