Cameron Jerrell Newton, who is more popularly known as Cam Newton, (or sometimes by his nickname “Super Cam”) is a 33-year-old American football quarterback who is a free agent. He has played for 11 seasons, primarily with the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League (NFL).
Newton started playing when he was still studying at the University of Florida. This was before he moved to Auburn University, where he won the Heisman Trophy and the 2011 BCS National Championship Game as a junior. That’s how he first came into the limelight and eventually got to be Carolina Panthers’ first choice overall during the 2011 NFL Draft. He was actually the only person awarded the Heisman Trophy and drafted into the NFL within the same year.
Newton has been breaking records since his rookie year and was considered one of the league’s finest players.

Cam Newton’s Most Notable Relationship
Cam Newton has been in several relationships in the past, but his most notable relationship was with model Shakia ‘Kia’ Proctor, the mother of four of his children.
The couple got together in 2013 and were never shy about appearing in public. They had their first child, Chosen Sebastian Newton, in 2015.
In 2017, they had their second child, Sovereign-Dior Cambella Newton. This was before they split for a while because he was linked to and actually briefly dated model Rubi Rose.
Newton and Proctor, however, got back together and had their third child, Camidas Swain Newton, in 2018. Then in 2019, they had their fourth child, Cashmere Saint Newton.
Although the couple never got to tie the knot, Cam Newton adopted Shakira, Kia’s daughter from a previous relationship.
The couple, however, broke up for good in 2019 after Kia found out that he cheated on her with Instagram model La Reina Shaw. That was after the news broke out about Cam Newton having a baby with Shaw. It has been reported that Super Cam had been seeing the Instagram model while he was with his longtime girlfriend.
Cam Newton’s Past and Current Relationships
Before being in a relationship with Kia Proctor, Cam Newton was said to have dated TV star Angela Simmons. This was, however, not confirmed by both parties.
The athlete also briefly dated singer Ciara in 2012. The romance didn’t last long though, as they had broke up before the year ended. That’s when Newton started dating his longtime girlfriend, Proctor, and they had four kids together.
But Newton cheated on Proctor again with the Instagram model, La Reina Shaw, whom he had a child with, causing them to separate ways for good. Their son, Caesar Lorenzo Newton, was born in 2019. According to reports, the couple is still together as of writing.

On Being Called Transgender, Then Gay, by a Lawmaker
The gay rumors surrounding the athlete started in 2020 when a lawmaker called him transgender. Then afterward, he changed it to gay.
John Rogers, a Democrat from Birmingham, Alabama, reportedly made the bizarre assertion during a hearing on HB35 — a bill that would prevent transgender people from competing in sporting events that are limited to females.
My favorite player is a transgender.”
John Rogers reportedly said
When asked who the player was, the lawmaker didn’t drop any name but instead gave some hints, saying that it was someone who plays for the “North Carolina Panthers.”
While doing some follow-up reports, Yellowhammer News asked Rogers to who he was referring. The lawmaker said it was Cam Newton and that he just misspoke about Newton being transgender and actually meant gay.
There is nothing wrong with that and that there are many football players who are gay.”

Super Cam hadn’t responded to the lawmaker’s assertion about his sexuality.
The anti-trans athlete bill was, by the way, never approved.
Is Cam Newton Gay?
